Qatar 2022: FIFA announces the opening of the ticket office
FIFA announced on Wednesday the start of ticket sales for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, stating that it offers "a wide range of tickets available during this first phase of sales, supporters are invited not to miss the opportunity to live a competition like no other”.
In a press release, the world body notes that this opening of the ticket office "offers supporters in the region and around the world the opportunity to acquire the precious sesame which will allow them to participate in this great football celebration". .
According to Fatma Samoura, Secretary General of FIFA, quoted by the press release, "the offer which is proposed today, when the ticket office opens, reflects our objective of bringing football within the reach of the greatest number of possible supporters around the world”.
All supporters will be able to submit their ticket requests during this first phase of sales, which begins on January 19, 2022 at 1:00 p.m., Doha time, and will end on February 8 at the same time, specifies FIFA. The actual date of submission of the form is of no importance since all the tickets put on sale during this phase will be allocated at the end of the period mentioned, assures the same source.
In the event that requests exceed the number of tickets available for the planned contingents (national or international), a draw will be made to allocate places. Whether their request has been fully or partially satisfied or even refused, all supporters will be kept informed of the outcome of their request by Tuesday, March 8, as well as the next steps and payment deadlines to be respected.
During this phase of sales by drawing lots, supporters can acquire "Individual Match Tickets" which are valid for a specific match and available for the whole competition, from the opening match to the final, as well as “Team-specific ticket series” for fans who want to follow a given team along its journey (possible for the group stage only).
