(Pocket-lint) - Prey is the latest installment in the Predator franchise, and it will premiere exclusively on Disney's streaming services this summer. Here's all of 20th Century Studios' upcoming action-thriller, including when and where you can watch it online.
The Prey (2022): What you need to know
Set in the Comanche Nation 300 years ago, Prey tells the story of Naru (played by Amber Midthunder), a skilled warrior raised by hunters on the Great Plains. When danger threatens her people, she is not ready to fall prey. She preys on what turns out to be a highly evolved alien predator with advanced weaponry.
Director Dan Trachtenberg said his goal for the film was to return to the roots of the Predator franchise.
Here is the official 20th Century Studios logline for Prey:
"The story of the origin of the Predator in the world of the Comanche nation, 300 years ago. Naru, a skilled female warrior, fights to protect her tribe against one of the first highly evolved Predators to land on Earth ."

Prey will premiere on August 5, 2022.
Prey (2022): Where to watch online
Since Prey is a Disney-owned 20th Century Studios movie, it will be released exclusively on Disney's various streaming services around the world.
US
Prey will debut on Hulu in the United States. Hulu starts at $6.99 per month.
UK
Prey will be an Original Star on Disney+ in the UK and all other territories except Latin America. A subscription to Disney+ costs £7.99 per month.
Latin America
Prey will air on Star+ Original in Latin America.
Prey (2022): Cast and crew
Prey features a cast made up almost entirely of First Nations talent, like Midthunder, Dakota Beavers, Stormee Kipp, Michelle Thrush, and Julian Black Antelope.
Dan Trachtenberg (The Boys and 10 Cloverfield Lane) directed the screenplay by Patrick Aison (Jack Ryan).
John Davis (The Predator) and Jhane Myers (Monsters of God) are the producers, while Lawrence Gordon (Watchmen), Marty Ewing (It Chapter Two), James E Thomas, John C Thomas and Marc Toberoff (Fantasy Island) are the executive producers.

Prey (2022): How to catch up?
To catch up and be ready for Prey before it releases this summer, you must first watch the Predator franchise. And also the Alien franchise.
It's true: Two of cinema's most iconic monsters share the same cinematic universe.
Thanks to the Alien vs Predator movies, the Alien and Predator franchises have converged to take place in the same timeline. There are now 12 films in total to watch - if you fancy revisiting the so-called Alien universe - the oldest of which is Ridley Scott's 1979 classic Alien, set in the year 2122. However, the oldest film, chronologically, is the first Predator, whose action takes place in the year of its premiere: 1987.
