Morocco offers itself the Alinet system, an ultra-sophisticated war device

Morocco has offered itself a new Israeli electronic defense system. This is the Alinet system, an ultra-sophisticated and long-range warfare device that can detect radar signals and any air and ground threats in particular, according to the international military electronics company Elbit, based in Tel Aviv. . The information was picked up by several Moroccan and Israeli media.

The “Alinet” system, equipped with electronic support means, electronic countermeasures and command and control systems, should allow the kingdom to collect intelligence from radar and electromagnetic signals and determine the frequencies emitted by defense systems. Aerial.

"Such units will create a complete passive image on the ground and in the air and provide an electronic combat system, which will enable an effective response to air and ground threats," the Israeli company said in a statement, adding that it will provide EW and SIGINT ground units.

These systems include unmanned aerial vehicles and an advanced air defense system. The Kingdom does not intend to stop there and intends to further strengthen its defense system.

Morocco, since its resumption of its relations with Israel, has continued to multiply cooperation agreements in various sectors of activity and in particular in that of security. The armament aspect is therefore not to be outdone and has benefited from the particular interest of Moroccan and Israeli leaders. The heads of the sector of the two countries have, in fact, made visits and concluded agreements on collaboration.

One of the agreements is to supply the Kingdom with Israeli weapons of various types. The convention has already been implemented. Last April, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz, visiting Morocco, announced Morocco's acquisition of advanced Israeli missile defense systems.

The Alinet system will allow our Royal Armed Forces (FAR) to control and analyze the communications of its adversaries, as well as to collect sensitive information. This achievement is a logical continuation of cooperation in the field of defence. According to Elbit, the contract will be executed over two and a half years. It comes on the heels of Morocco's $22 million purchase of Israeli-made Harop 2022 munitions and the announcement of a $500 million purchase of a suite of 'Barack-8' air defense systems. officially announced last February.

Relations between Israel and Morocco are in good shape. Recently the Israeli Defense Minister, Benny Gantz, received the Inspector General of the Moroccan Armed Forces, Commander of the Southern Region, Belkheir Al-Farouq, who was on an official visit to Israel to attend the first international conference on innovation organized by the Israeli army, as part of its 2022 strategic plan.

Security expert Mohamed Al Tayyar, told Hespress that electronic warfare in recent decades "has imposed itself, especially with the development of weapons systems, and thus becomes an essential means of breaking through enemy defences. He stressed that the electronic weapon is effective and more is, without loss of life.

"Electronic warfare systems are primarily based on monitoring and counter-protecting all actions taken by the enemy, and protecting electrical power generation facilities, and the Internet in general." He estimated that this system, which is the latest electronic weapon manufactured by Israel, “will allow the FAR to collect intelligence information related to radio frequency waves emitted by radars, in addition to the possibility that the coordinates of hostile air defense sites appear directly on the screen, as well as the determination of the danger zone".

Al Tayyar elaborated on his idea by specifying that “this state-of-the-art Israeli electronic system will also contribute to reinforcing the important and exceptional measures that Morocco is keen to develop and modernize in order to protect its national security”. The analyst and security expert noted a multiplicity of risks and threats to Morocco's security and stability related to the dangerous security dilemma in the African Sahel region, and the spread of armed terrorist groups, as well as criminal gangs.

The latter are active in this being perfectly organized in drug trafficking, human trafficking, arms trafficking and irregular migration. Mohamed Al Tayyar also underlined that the efforts of the Algerian military regime and its ally Iran target neither more nor less the Moroccan national security, through the separatist militias, thus placing Morocco in front of new challenges which require to develop mechanisms to deal with it.
