King Mohammed VI received this Tuesday, May 25, the chairman of the Special Commission on the CSMD development model.


King Mohammed VI chaired at the Royal Palace of Fez the presentation ceremony of the general report of the Special Commission on the Development Model (CSMD) and received, on this occasion in audience, Mr. Chakib Benmoussa, president of this commission who presented the Sovereign with a copy of the report, said a statement from the royal cabinet.


The renovation of the development model constitutes a new stage in the consolidation of the social project led by the Sovereign. It is also called upon to strengthen the attachment to the values ​​of positive and active citizenship, as well as the feeling of belonging to a nation and the affirmation of the historical and cultural Moroccan personality, rich in its millennial history, its tradition of openness and its multiple components.


Thus, in accordance with the mission entrusted to it, the Commission has adopted a multidimensional approach and rigorously framed its work. In particular, she was able to explore the new challenges and changes brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, in a multitude of strategic areas such as health, agriculture and food security, energy, industrial and tourism development.


On the occasion of the Royal audience granted to Mr. Chakib Benmoussa, the King congratulated the President and the members of the Commission for the efforts made and the quality of the work accomplished, the result of a broad participatory listening process, debate and collective intelligence around the renovation of the Moroccan development model.


The Sovereign also congratulated the Commission for its full respect for the participatory approach that he was good enough to recommend in this matter and thanked, on this occasion, all of the contributors to the exercise, whether they were political parties, economic and social organizations, NGOs and think-tanks as well as all the citizens who participated, across the national territory, in the hearings organized by the Commission.


In this circumstance, the King called for interaction with the result of this work and for its placing at the service of the development of our country and the well-being of its citizens.


Also, the Sovereign ordered the publication of the CSMD report and asked the Commission to carry out a vast operation of restitution and explanation of its conclusions and recommendations, with the citizens and the various actors through all the regions of the Kingdom.


In addition, the government and the various actors and institutions are invited, each in their area of ​​expertise, to participate and actively contribute to the implementation of the relevant recommendations of this report, in order to serve the new ambition and the new development course. , up to the expectations of the King and the Moroccan people.


In this regard, the innovative proposal of the CSMD aimed at translating the strategic elements of the new model into a “National Pact for Development” deserves to be retained and implemented in a constructive and consensual spirit, with a high sense of responsibilities and the general interest, as a common frame of reference for all living forces in their diversity.


This ceremony took place in the presence of the Head of Government, Mr. Saad Dine El Otmani, the President of the House of Representatives, Mr. Habib El Malki, the President of the House of Councilors, Mr. Hakim Benchamach, Councilors of HM the King, Mr. Omar Azzimane and Mr. Fouad Ali El Himma, and presidents of constitutional bodies.


The general secretaries and presidents of the political parties represented in Parliament, the secretary general of the Supreme Council of Ouléma, Mr. Mohamed Yssef, the wali of Bank Al-Maghrib, Mr. Abdellatif Jouahri, the High Commissioner for Planning, were also present. Mr. Ahmed Lahlimi Alami, the President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Mr. Chakib Alj, and the President of the Professional Group of Moroccan Banks (GPBM), Mr. Othmane Benjelloun ”.
